The Unclothed Figure (working title)
2022 – ongoing
I photograph the unclothed figure on 12×20 — a negative the size of a sheet of paper, contact-printed by hand. At that scale skin becomes surface and the body becomes form: line, weight, geometry, before it is a person.
The faces are turned away. What I look for is not a likeness but the stillness a body keeps when it trusts the camera — anonymous, sculptural, close to the way stone or cloth holds light.
